Thursday Words

I remember Christmas when I was a young boy. There was never enough to make it grand. I know it bothered my mother that some years there wasn't even a tree. She always managed to get us something from the Sears and Roebucks catalogue. It may be why I have tended to overdo as an adult. Many times I confess forgetting that Christ is the beginning of Christmas and the real gift is His gift of life to us.

Wednesday Words

Its the season to celebrate the birth of the Christ child.
In this day and nation when the hearts of so many Americans have turned to themselves and other men the meaning of the season is clouded as to its true meaning.
The angels sang "Joy to the world".
God has walked among men and the majority men reject Him today.
His Word foretells of all this, so be comforted this Christmas season in knowing that God has not left us, to the contrary He is still in charge. Be of great joy and know that His purpose will be fulfilled. There will be "Peace on earth" and "Joy once again in the world" but know it will be in the time of His choosing. I pray this season will be a season of returning of the hearts of Americans to the truths of His Word. Pray for His will to be done and your prayers will always be answered.

Tuesday Words

Yesterday I went to the doctor for a screening for my routine colonostopy . While waiting in the reception room for my appointment which was late as usual (kind of like the military, they want you there 10minutes early but they are always running late, in military terms known as hurry up and wait).
There was an older gentleman there with a U.S.M.C. hat on. I struck up a conversation with him asking when he was in the "Suck" a term which automatically lets one know you are a fellow Leatherneck. Our conversation about our time in the Marines and Vietnam made the wait pass quickly. Upon leaving he said, "Simper Fi ." To which I replied, "Back to you brother." There is a bond that those who have never known the corps could never understand, once a Marine always a Marine. May God bless and protect those in service today.

Monday Words

The difference between my family and Washington.
We have often said, "We can't afford it, we don't need it but we will do it anyway."
Just like what is happening in Washington. The difference is when we do it we have to do what is necessary to pay for it. Washington to this point has never had to pay for anything.
They just keep on spending as if there was no responsibility to debt. We need to send Mr. Deed's to Washington.

The meaning of Christmas.

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."

My wife had this photo entered into an Arkansas photo contest. It wasn't a final winner but was selected to be used in their video that comes with the book. She was so proud of that accomplishment that I found great joy in seeing her joy. Such are the little things that make life worth living.
