My grand-daughter just started school this year. She owes a tax debt of over $350million dollars that is growing by the hour. I am so sick and tired of the dishonesty in our government. Please America help stop the insanity that has gripped our country.
Pray without ceasing, become accountable and demand of those you have hired in Washington to do the same.

Do you know what you get when you get something for nothing?
Nothing worth getting.
My wife and I have a little joke every weekend when we get home and are unloading the car from our shopping.
We smile at each other and say, "More stuff"!
That's living the American dream.

I was reminded by my daughter on her blog of the "good old days". It got me thinking about what made those days good. It was a time when people earned what they had and for the most part were honest and accountable for what they did. It was a time when people meant what they said and said what they meant. It was a time when people were proud to be Americans and our history was something we were proud of not twisted into something to be ashamed of. It was a time when God and His Word were honored and praised across the land, my friends that's what I think made the "good old days" the good old days.

Health care is coming
There is great debt in sight.
Health care is coming
I tremble in fright.
Health care is coming
The will pass it at night.
Health care is coming
It will not stand the light.
Health care is coming
No matter what's right.
Health care is coming
See the people react.
Health care is coming
It better be good.
Health care is coming
Politicians beware.
Health care is coming
In November you'll be there.

Enjoy your freedom on the Internet while you can, I fear there is a move afoot to place it under federal management.
I also hope and pray we will not have another terrorist attack in the United States for I fear our government response will not be what it was on 9/11. I fear a national emergency will be declared and the government will seize even more of our freedoms----as we know they know better than we do how to live our lives.

On the cross Jesus cried out, "My God, My God why hast Thou forsaken me?" Even while He spoke these words He knew the answer, it must be done for the redemption of all who would believe.
Today many in America feel they should cry these words and that God has forsaken us. God is still there, it is we who have forsaken Him. If His Word teaches us anything it is that He will not abide in the presence of sin.
Abortion.
Homosexuality.
False Gods.
Greed.
On and on we need to repent and heed these words, "If My people, which are called by My name, will repent and return to Me" His promise is to return to us and heal our land.

Monday Words

I am sending the following letter to the White House and congress and hope that all who read this would do the same.
"I am not writing as a concerned democrat or republican but as a distressed grandparent. In my sixty-seven years of dedication to this nation and its constitution never have I seen a president or congress so out of touch with the people it supposedly serves and so unwilling to listen to its people.
I have written my concerns to the white house and all I got was a letter telling me how great they were doing and the great changes they were bringing. No mention of the concerns I wrote about.
I have written all my congressional representatives and either received a form letter telling me why they were doing what they were doing or no answer at all.
I say to all of them that in my case their careers in politics are over as far as I am concerned and since I have no option but to beg to any decency they might have (as that seems to be the only options I have left). Mr. President and Mr. and Mrs. Congressman please stop spending money you don't have. We need medical reforms but we can not continue to increase the debt our grandchildren will have to bear. We do not need environmental regulations that will lay a burden on us and future generations. You pick and choose those you believe about the environment when the majority of scientist and population say global warming is a myth.
Besides God is in control of that and not Washington D.C. or self interest groups. I beg you stop the wasteful spending, stop spreading your half truths and accept responsibility for the debt you have created and get off the back of working Americans and allow the American people to restore it economy. Please, please I beg you stop trying to grow your interests and concentrate on eliminating the debt you have place on our children and grandchildren."
A Scared American,
George Plaisted

Yesterday we came one step closer to socialized medicine. I have only one question to ask, who is being asked to sacrifice to give up the finest medical system in the world?
Is it the president? No, we will continue to pay for his good health care and also continue to finance his continued campaign for a second term on our tax money.
Is it congress? No, we will continue to sacrifice for them to better themselves with pork and closed door deals. By the way, while millions of us are loosing jobs and sacrificing to stay afloat they have given themselves a raise, don't expect any sacrifice here.
Will it be illegal aliens or those who have bee educated and conditioned by our government to believe that handouts instead of self improvement is the way to go. No, they don't pay the tax load they are being given that which is taken from those who have achieved.
Lets have some common sense in the argument. We do not have a health care crisis. We have the finest health care in the world. The problem with rising costs is not because of the insurance industry or the medical profession as our president would have us believe. The problem is the lack of competition, and as anyone with a third grade education can see it is government regulations on these industries.
Who refuses to allow competition across state lines? Who refuses to have tort reform? Who has and continues to look after special interests and themselves? The answer to all these questions is the Federal Government.
When all of us who are asked to sacrifice are giving all we have to continue your lavish lifestyle and take care of those who you have conditioned to not take care of themselves Mr. President
When the dollar is worthless and the debt is beyond payment for your reckless spending Mr. and Mrs. Congressman. Will you then begin to show some responsibility, I don't think so for then you will have us where you are taking us completely under your control and waiting for your next gift of benevolent kindness.
GOD HELP US TO HEAL OUR LAND, LET US TURN AND REPENT AND ONCE AGAIN LIVE BY YOUR WORDS THAT WE MIGHT SEE YOU HEAL OUR LAND AND RESTORE OUR FAITH. GOD PLEASE HEAL THE U.S.A.

Tuesday Words

Washington, I know you don't like to listen and I know your are intolerant of those who don't agree with the mindless things you do but I want to try and relate my 67 years of life to your actions.
I retired last year after working for 54 years of my life.
I paid into social security for all those working years. You took the money and spent it as you saw fit instead of building security for me as you promised. If it were all I had to retire on after working for 54 years I would be below the poverty level for my remaining years. Nice job on my federal retirement funds, some how I think I would have used that money more wisely.
I served in the U.S.M.C. for a little over ten years and am a veteran of Vietnam. A war in which the generals and fighting men were hampered by meddling from Washington. A war we could have won in half the time and lives it took to loose it without interference from those without the courage to serve. Yet today you are still trying to do the same thing to our brave men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Give them what they need and get out of their way or bring them home and face the results. Oh, and by the way thanks for my veterans benefits, which to my surprise when I need them I find you have placed a time limit on. I couldn't file for them while I was working and insured and now that I am retired I find I should have signed up when I couldn't. Another good job.
Looking back on my life and ahead at my granddaughter's life I ask myself why should I trust you with anything. All of you who have been there more than two terms should do the honorable thing and retire and as you leave pass two more laws, term limits and a crime to be a professional politician. You all need to be looking for an honest job in the economy you have created.
Remember the oath of office you swore and the promises you made to receive our trust. I could go on and on and wind up with a book but why you aren't listening to anyone but those who can help you feather your nest and advance your causes. Oh, one more thing you had better listen too; we out here are mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore. You can call us astro-turf and scoff but the day of reckoning is coming. Acorn and all the other things like the taking over of the census will not save you. You will be reminded who you work for as we seek to restore accountability and honesty in the sacred halls of our government.

Congratulations Mr. Obama on your peace prize (though I don't know what you have accomplished that is worthy of it) you join a couple of other worthy winners. Jimmy Carter (a very bitter old man) and Al Gore (a pathological liar). I guess I do no why, all three of you are extremely left wing radicals. Just my opinion.

Have you been keeping up with the funniest reality show on television -- congress and the white house.
Yesterday was the best one yet. They are going to spend 800 billion dollars (will probably turn out to be more like 2 trillion) to destroy the health care industry as we know and appreciate it. Here's the punch line, they are going to save us billions in doing it!
Hey prez and congress haven't you heard, you and I are as a nation are broke, as W. Nelson sings, "If whisky were a nickle you couldn't buy a smell." America wake up and smell the coffee. Let finally do something for our children and grandchildren besides burdening them with our debt. Help me vote the B------- out, I truly hope we can wait that long before our nation and economy are turned into a third world country. Thought I would put a picture with this that illustrates our future instead of our past.

Maybe It Is Just Me

Today I have shame in my heart for Americans. Our president today did not meet with the Dali Lama while he is in Washington. Instead he was greeted and given an award in congress where the speaker of the house made reference to standing up for the rights of the oppressed or seeming to be indifferent and unworthy to speak out in the face of moral wrong.
Our president did this for fear of looking bad in the eyes of the Communist Chinese leaders when he meets with them this month. The same Communist Chinese who would imprison the Dali Lama if they could get their hands on him and who have imprisoned and killed and still oppress the people of Tibet (the most peaceful people on the face of the earth).
In my opinion our greed and self-indulgence in Washington has brought us to the point of bankrupcy and need to cow to the Communist Chinese to further the greed and self-indulgence in Washington. Mr. President you need to trust in God and the people of the United States and not the left wing ideologists who seem to have your ear.
Restore moral responsibility in Washington and allow the American People to restore this great country to what it once was. Maybe it is just me......but I am ashamed today.

Hiking in the Smokies. It will show you how out of shape you really are. This trail led to a beautiful water fall and I was accompanied by my wife and daughter, we all enjoyed it, the views, the flowers and especially the falls. But at the end we were glad to see the car and a chance to catch a breather.
Stern tasks can be handled if you work together. Depend on and help one another, assure each other the effort is worth the reward and listen to the needs of those you are with. In short depend on each other and respect those you are on the journey with.
Mr. president and congress maybe you should take a little hike in the mountains. Then you might realize the easy way to accomplish a task is to use all the assets at hand. You might try listening twice as much as you talk and depend on each other a little more, after all you weren't sent to Washington to single handily solve the world's problems but to represent the good of the people you are supposed to serve. My mother always used to say, "God gave you two ears and one mouth young man, you should at least listen twice as much as you speak." I have found this to be good advice at home and on the job.

Monday Shot

North Carolina from a lookout on the decent into Cherokee in the Great Smokey Mountains.
What a mighty God created and sustains this land.
While we dispute over health care
While we have rumors of another stimulus package
While we seek to obtain the Olympics (thank God that expense was averted)
Shouldn't we be thinking about repenting and confessing our abandonment of God and dealing with the real problems in America?
We should place our faith in God, our trust in each other and seek to restore accountability in our leaders. Then maybe God bless America will again become a reality instead of a political sound bite.
